Before you can process any data, you will need to create a Calibration profile for your Camera and Light-Setup. You should only need to do this once per scanner, but it would be recommended to create a new exposure calibration if you are to drastically change your Camera’s parameters between scanning sessions to ensure consistent results.

📸 Exposure & White Balance
Start off by launching the exposure profile dialogue by going to :
File -> Settings -> Exposure Parameters
This opens the Exposure Parameters Presets window, you can either: select one you have made before, remove one you have made before or make a new one.
To make a new one click New:
The dialog pictured below will be launched, providing an input form to set up a new exposure preset:
Name: Enter a descriptive name for the preset in order to remember it in future.
Raw file: Provide the path of the raw calibration image, obtained from capturing the calibration scene. Full guidance on how to correctly set up the scene to obtain the best possible calibration reference image using a grey colour chart can be found here.
Distance: The measured distance between the centre of the light and the grey card used in the calibration scene.
Grey Value: The percentage value in HSV of grey tile in the section of the colour chart that will be selected from the raw image for exposure calibration.
Please refer to the catalogue of colour cards and known % values that we have consolidated.
This is not the Grey %. We are referring to white having 100% value and black having 0% value
Once all of the above fields are completed, clicking the Create button will launch the exposure calibration tool

Selecting a region
We need to write about how to do a selection . .
‘W' / 'B' - Key to make the image brighter or darker in the preview window.
Loading a Preset Exposure Calibration
Once the new exposure preset is created, it will be stored and available to pick from the list in the presets dialog. The desired exposure preset can be loaded by selecting the corresponding row in the list and clicking the Save button.
The loaded preset will be reflected in the settings window and used as the default for all future processing jobs:
Light System
Press the Lights Setup button in the settings menu to load or configure a new Light System:
New Light System Configuration
In the Light System Setup dialogue, use the X, Y and Z input fields to enter the measured 3D position offset (in metres) of each light to the centre of the camera sensor.
Light positions are specified in metres, relative to the camera sensor, in the coordinate shown here
Clicking the Add button creates a new row storing the light position once its XYZ coordinates have been entered. Each row should be populated and added in the order in which the lights will be turned on during a scan. If you have made a mistake during this process, or have the lights in the wrong order, use the remove button and start again.
