When using Marso for the first time, a number of settings must be initially set. This is done via the settings Dialog.

Paths
Marso requires creating two folders on secondary storage in order to function:
Scratch Directory
Intermediary Files will be written here during processing, and deleted afterwards
Fast R/W speeds are highly recommended, and available space ~256GB
Output Directory
Results will be written here, in a subfolder for each subject
Storage speeds are not as important, can be a network share

Calibration Presets
Before processing, you will need to create calibration presets to describe your capture system to Marso.
This should only need to be done once for a Camera and Light, as long as the exposure settings are not modified.
Exposure Preset
To create an exposure preset, you will need to capture a photo of a calibration grey card under similar conditions to how you will capture any subjects. See: Capturing a Calibration Image
Once you have this image you can create an exposure preset.
There may be some delay before the Exposure Calibration tool is launched!
Selecting a region
When the dialogue launches, you should see your calibration image displayed, with a prompt to select a region of your grey card. Draw a selection box over the region corresponding to the grey value given.
A larger the box is better, as it will reduce the impact of noise. If you are unable to see the grey card to make a selection, use the hotkeys to adjust the brightness.
W/S - Key to make the preview image brighter or darker.
R - To reset the brightness
This is just for preview purposes and does not affect the final calibration.
Press Enter
to confirm the selection. This will start the exposure calibration, which may take up to 10 minutes depending on your system and then resolution of your camera.
Once complete it will display the adjust image for confirmation. Accepting the confirmation will return you to Marso, with the new exposure preset visible:

New exposure presets can be created at any time as required. It should be possible to re-use your preset as long as the capture system remains unchanged.
Light System
The ‘Light System’ preset describes the location of you light(s) relative to the camera sensor. If you have multiple lights, the Light System preset also describes the order in which the lights should be triggered when capturing.

The new light system will appear on the right side, and can be viewed by selecting it.
