Marso has been designed and developed with professional & prosumer cameras in mind, such as DLSRs, mirrorless cameras, and some smartphone cameras. Marso can only work with one camera model for a single scan.

📝  Requirements

  • Save images in a Raw file format

  • Set manual exposure (shutter speed / ISO / Aperture)

  • Disable any image stabilization, either on the lens, camera or both.

🔎 Lens

For the best photogrammetry, it is best to use a lens around 28mm (wide). Ultra-wide lenses can cause too much distortion & will leave the subject small within the frame, and a telephoto lens will also be difficult to solve in 3D. Photogrammetry aside, MARSO requires good even framing, read more here.

A high aperture number will also result in much sharper images.

Supported Formats

  • CR2

  • CR3

  • NEF

  • ARW

  • RAF

  • DNG

  • IIQ

For photogrammetry, we recommend avoiding ultra-wide angle lenses, and telephoto lenses as these will result in poor camera solves.
