✏️ Job Creation

In the main window of Marso, the topmost panel is used to create new jobs.

Before continuing, make sure you have selected an Exposure and Light System.

To create a new job you will need to enter:

  1. Job Name: A descriptive name that will be used to identify the scan throughout processing and once the results are ready. e.g Blue_Leather_Handbag

Letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores are allowed. Do not use special characters. Names do not need to be unique.

  1. Raw FilesImages Folder: Specify the path to the raw images from the scan to be processed.

  1. Raw Images Extension: Select from the list of supported file formats found in the Raw Images Folder.

Note

Marso can only ingest camera RAW or DNG Files, it cannot read jpeg, png or exr, see supported Filesfiles for details. The file type must match the currently selected exposure calibration.

Select Start to begin preparing the images for processing. This may take up to an hour.

📷 Image Preparation

Image preparation is necessary to create ensure the photogrammetry images are consistent with the processing data.

After clicking starting the preparation step you will see the job appear in the job list below. If you need to stop the running job you can click the Stop, although any progress will be lost.

If the prepare process fails, first ensure that the selected Exposure Calibration is correct.
Contact support if the issue persists.

The prepare stage has completed successfully when you see the status READY. The Job is now ready for Photogrammetry.

In addition to reading all data into Marso, this step will create exr files that must be used for the photogrammetry step. Click Inspect Photos to view these images

When using a capture system that has multiple lights, Marso will create only one exr file for each camera position.

  1. Light System: Describes the relative position of the lights to the camera. These are presets that can be re-used for different jobs if the same scanning setup is being used. See Calibration Section for more information.

Click Create to add the new job to the job list.

A confirmation will be displayed for you to check the number of images, the extension, and the images directory.
