If you have not yet measured the lights on your capture system, please refer to this guide. |
Start off by launching the
Light-Setup dialogue by going to :
File -> Settings -> Lights Setup
New Light System Configuration
Light positions are specified in meters, and are relative to the camera sensor, in the coordinate system shown on the Leftbelow.
If your camera is in portrait or upside down, then Y ‘up’ relates to real-world up.
Note |
---|
Your camera system must remain in the same orientation that you have used for the calibration image to maintain a consistent Light position relationship. It is okay if the internal gyroscope of the camera flips images landscape/portrait when shooting above the object. |
Clicking the Add
button creates a new row storing the light position once its XYZ coordinates have been entered. Each row should be populated and added in the order in which the lights will be turned on during a scan. If you have made a mistake during this process, or have the lights in the wrong order, use the remove button and start again.
Once all light positions have been added, the Light System parameters can be named and saved by using the provided Name
input field and the Save
button positioned to its right.

We have provided some example calibrations if you are having difficulties. |
Loading a Light System
Similarly to the exposure calibration, once the new Light System parameters have been saved, they will be stored and appear in the Light System Selection pane on the right. The correct Light System for the scanning setup used can be loaded by selecting the corresponding row in the list and clicking the Save
button in the bottom right corner:
The selected Light System will now be set as the default and appear in the Settings dialog:
Pressing “Save” in the Application Settings dialog completes and stores the environment setup for processing future scans.
